WHAT DOES MAISON D’OM MEAN?

MAISON d’OM is French for House of Om. Although our founder does not have any French roots, she has spent a considerable amount of time learning about French culture and developing a great love for the language. Om is a nod to her own journey and commitment to internal peace and wellness, which is an essential part of our brand’s identity.

HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM HAVING A DOULA AND HOW CAN A FERTILITY DOULA HELP ME?

There are many wonderful benefits of having a doula with you during your journey to expand your family. Doulas are by definition pro-choice because we completely support the decisions of our clients. It should be noted that Maïson d’Om does not discriminate against anyone; we respect the personal beliefs of all of our clients.

Studies show that having a doula present can result in a shorter labor, reduced risk for C-section, decreased use of Pitocin and need for medication relief, an extra set of hands or expanded support system, and increased chance of having an overall pleasant birth experience. Ask us how!

ARE DOULAS COVERED BY INSURANCE?

Currently, insurances do not cover doula services. However, check with your benefits plans to see if there are specific billing codes that may be used for your reimbursement. Usually, clients are able to use plans such as HSAs or flexible spending accounts to cover doula expenses. We can also workout an agreement on a payment schedule if necessary. The current rates are available upon request.

HOW DO DOULAS DIFFER FROM MIDWIVES?

Midwives are health care providers trained to deliver babies at birthing centers and home births. Midwives can be used in place of an OB, provided surgical intervention is not warranted. On the other hand, the role of the doula is to provide informational, emotional and physical support. This can be helping you to navigate medical options, communicate with providers, empowering clients to advocate for themselves and helping your family adjust to the new addition(s).

HOW MANY CLIENTS DO YOU HAVE PER MONTH?

We accept a maximum of 2 clients per month, at the current moment.

WHAT DOES WELLNESS HAVE TO DO WITH FERTILITY?

Reproductive health is essential to women’s health & wellness. Infertility issues can negatively effect the overall health of a couple/individual. We are here to help you navigate through your options on your journey.

WHAT IS OUR REFUND POLICY?

We do not offer refunds for services rendered. Please know that all services and tailored plans will be specifically outline and agreed upon in a signed contract. This will help to eliminate any possible confusion between both parties.

HOW DOES MAISON D’OM INTERACT WITH THE COMMUNITY?

Maïson d’Om has many upcoming projects that will involve community engagement, educational seminars in underserved areas, discounted rates for single moms, and much more. Stay tuned!

IS PHOTOGRAPHY LIMITED TO MATERNAL SHOOTS ONLY?

At the current moment, yes. However, there will be opportunities to participate in upcoming projects associated with the brand.

BIRTH PLAN VERSUS PHILOSOPHY?

At Maïson d’Om, we believe in the power of having a birth philosophy. Creating healthy mental expectations can help birthing parents eliminate the unnecessary stress that accompanies a checklist, over things we cannot always control. Keeping stress low and our client healthy is our top priority. Similar philosophy planning is available to fertility clients as well.
